Adbusters Magazine

Adbusters Magazine
By: Celine Diaz
Today’s consumer society bombards us with countless distractions — billboards, advertisements, and commercials — all aimed at making us buy things (many of which we don’t need).
If you are tired of this exhausting spiral of consumerism, volunteer for Adbusters Magazine — a non-profit, anti-consumerism magazine, which gives activists and students opportunities to write about things that don’t have to do with corporate interests (for once!).
Currently, Adbusters Magazine is looking for volunteers to fill in for an administrative job.
Requirements:
Commitment to 3 hours a week, Monday through Friday (either 10am-1pm or 1pm-4pm)
Tasks:
Responding to emails
Transcribing interviews
Fulfilling shipment orders
Benefits:
You get a free issue of Adbusters everytime you come in
Your name appears in the magazine
You receive a reference letter
You gain valuable administrative skills
You get to join the stand against consumerism
Perhaps you feel driven to support Adbusters’ anti-consumerism movement, or perhaps you simply want to gain adminstrative skills. Whatever the reason, if you’re interested in volunteering for this position, email nicole@adbusters.org — and include a brief description of yourself and of your availabilities.
