This time of year most non-profits are getting creative to raise extra funds for those in need around the holidays. One of these groups is Volunteer Richmond; an organization bringing people and services together in the city of Richmond.

This time of year they are kicking in to high gear to raise money and donations for their Christmas Fund Donation. The Christmas fund aims to hand out grocery vouchers to over 2,000 low-income Richmond residents and provide more than 900 children with gifts. Some of their events to raise money range from a quilt raffle to gift wrapping in Richmond Centre and Lansdowne.

This year the Christmas fund has created the first ever Richmond Christmas Fund Drive-Thru Event. Next Thursday, December 8, start your day by driving thru though Delta Vancouver Airport for coffee and a muffin.

From 6 a.m. to 9 a.m., the drive thru team including Richmond Mayor Malcolm Brodie, will be accepting cash, gift cards, new toys and books in exchange for breakfast. Donations will be accepted all day in exchange for a breakfast voucher. The Richmond Christmas fund is hoping to raise $50,000 in cash, toys and gift certificates.

For breakfast next Thursday morning, consider the drive-thru and bring a donation! The Delta Vancouver Airport is located at 3500 Cesna Drive in Richmond.
