Finding employment in the non-profit sector

  6519 reads

Early this semester, Volunteer Services and Career Services hosted a panel on “Working in the Non-Profit Sector.” The session, featuring a variety of employees in the non-profit sector, was well attended and informative, and highlighted the interest of many SFU students to work in the non-profit sector upon graduation.

Just as there are general job posting websites like Workopolis, Monster.ca or SFU’s very own Symplicity, there are also job websites dedicated solely to the non-profit sector. We came across a list of non-profit job websites in the Cause Communications group in LinkedIn. These are largely American websites, but we’ll thrown in a few Canadian ones as well as we find them (be sure to let us know about the ones you use!).

NOTE: Many organizations post exclusively on their own websites and find applicants through personal contacts, so be aware that there is also a huge hidden job market to explore!
