Volunteer at SFU Summer Camps in 2014!

Volunteer at SFU Summer Camps in 2014!
By: Cadence Sun
SFU provides summer camp program for kids from four to 18 years old. These camps offer activities such as swimming, language-learning, and hiking. Also, they are now looking for volunteers to help organize these summer camps in 2014! They will post the needed position on their website on April 14th and conduct interviews in May. Volunteering for SFU Camps is a great opportunity to gain practical experience in a fun, safe and welcoming environment. If you are wondering what to do for this summer, why not volunteer at SFU summer camps?
Considering personal development, it is beneficial to volunteer at SFU summer camps. The following are some advantages:
- Acquire valuable leadership skills and become familiar with Simon Fraser University’s Athletic & Recreation Department;
- Meet new people while having a rewarding and enjoyable summer;
- Volunteers will receive reflective evaluations and reference letters;
- Gain experience for future opportunities.
However, SFU Camps require volunteers to have a criminal record check on file within three years. The application process might be a little bit more complicated than other volunteer positions, but it is worth trying to volunteer for SFU summer camps. If you are dedicated, enthusiastic, and at least 14 years of age, please apply to join SFU Camps! Let’s all contribute to the SFU community! To apply, email admin_camps@sfu.ca or call 778-782-4307 if you have any questions. You can also find out more information and find updates on this website.
