Warming Up!

Warming Up!
By: Felice Rafael
Before the fall semester ended, President Andrew Petter launched the second annual Winter Warm-Up. This one day event, held on Thursday, November 29, was an event open to everyone in the SFU community to take a quick break from the impending onslaught of finals. Delicious hot cocoa and hot apple cider were available along with some scrumptious snacks. Attendees were able to warm up by space heaters all around Convocation Mall or take a tour around the various booths at the event such as watching the Men’s Semi-Final Soccer match or playing a game of Street Hockey.
The Peer Engagement team was also at the event hosting a fun photo booth. The booth invited people from the SFU community to have fun and take photos with the various props available. The purpose was to get people to engage with one another and learn more about how people become involved in the SFU community. The event was a great success with over a hundred participants having a fun time taking photos. Check out the pictures on the Peers Facebook page.
The SFU Peer Engagement team is excited to host more events and activities in the future. Look for the team at one of the next SFU events. Plus, if you want to get more involved in the community, the Peer Engagement Team is now taking appointments for engagement consultations. We encourage all students to come by for booked appointments or drop-ins and discover how they can get more engaged. For more information visit us at our website.
