Meet with Aboriginal Storytellers
Listen to our Panel from various walks of life introduce themselves and discuss their backgrounds, their education, the obstacles they have overcome and their career path. These Aboriginal representatives are from a variety of organizations, industries and Nations here to answer tell their story and answer your questions.
Entertainment
Mike (Nisga’a, Tlingit, Tsetsaut, and Tsimshian) and Mique’l Dangeli (Tsimshian) have shared the leadership of The Git Hayetsk Dancers since 2003. They take pride in respectfully being traditionally contemporary and make it a priority to both continue and expand their ancient traditions in contemporary times and as such they sing the songs of ancestors as well as create new songs, dances, drums, rattles, masks, and regalia to reflect and record their experiences as First Nations people today.
Career Services
Simon Fraser University Career Services has invited employers to meet with you and discuss their respective fields. This is a great opportunity for students to make connections to find part-time jobs or future possibilities without having to spend a lot of time searching.
Refreshments
Before and after the event there will be an opportunity to socialize with our panel, faculty and employers while having refreshments including bannock and campfire tea.
Brought to you by:
- Office for Aboriginal Peoples
- Indigenous Student Centre
