Hello,
My name is Laura Forsythe. I am Metis from the Red River. As the Treasurer of the First Nations Student Association I invite each of you to come and witness the 2nd Annual SFU Indigenous Day. Performers, artists and educators come from across Canada to share their knowledge expressing their cultural diversity.
It will be through this Six-hour event that we will be able to engage with Indigenous Culture through sound, sight and taste.

Cultural Groups will share with your through music, dance and song their culture teaching you some of their Indigenous Knowledge.

Artists such as Brandon Gabriel, Rory Dawson, Shirley Brown, Selma Thevarge, Calvin Harry, Jackie Timothy and many more will sharing their Indigenous knowledge through an exhibit of their work, an opportunity to purchase your favorites as well as demonstrations.
A dream Catcher Workshop is FREE for those interested in trying something new. And Elders will be leading talking circles for those interested in learning more about Indigenous culture with question and answer periods.
Indigenous organizations such as the First Nations Cultural council and Centre, First Nations Wellness/Addictions Counsellor Certification Board, BC Aboriginal Child Care Society, VACFASS and many more.
Many SFU Indigenous Initiatives will also be featuring information to share with those in attendance such as Indigenous Student Centre, Indigenous OLC, and the Office for Aboriginal Peoples
We hope you will join us for our celebration and an opportunity to learn more about the diverse Indigenous culture here on Turtle Island.
