Contacting Security
Vancouver Campus
Communication with the security guards
Please do not hesitate to call security immediately if you feel that there might be a problem. For instance, if you see someone acting in an unusual or suspicious manner, or if you feel uncomfortable or threatened, the guards are more than willing to offer assistance.
Security is located on the main floor in all our buildings

- Dial 12 from any classroom or housephone to contact security.

- for room temperature adjustments
- to order catering, audio/visual, etc.
- to lock/unlock meeting rooms
- etc.
Basic Instructions on two-way radio protocol:
Sometimes calling security will require speaking to them over the radio if they are not in the guardhouse at the time of your call.
Only one person may speak at a time and upon completion of their statement, they should say "over" indicating to the other person that it is their turn to speak.
Hesitate slightly each time before speaking and answering as there is a two to three second delay in the radio-telephone interconnect. If you do not delay, the first part of your sentence will be lost.
You may wish to program the emergency number into the speed dial of your telephone. This will help to ensure that in an emergency your call is placed quickly and accurately.
