Funding Opportunities

The Office of Research Services regularly publicizes information about research funding opportunities via e-mail lists. Previous funding announcements are archived for easy reference. The process followed is that a sponsor circulates funding opportunity descriptions electronically to research administrators across Canada and ORS staff edit and forward the information to those that wish to receive it. The onus is on researchers to stay informed and to pursue those opportunities that appear to match their own needs and interests.

ORS has compiled a list of quick links to major research sponsors.

ORS also provides SFU researchers with access to commercially available databases of research opportunities.

CIHR Funding Opportunity Database

Some non SFU publications to which SFU researchers may wish to subscribe are:

Research Opportunities, with Human Resources and Social Development Canada. This publication describes small contract opportunities in many field of interest, including employee learning, literacy education, and labour economics. To be added to the distribution list of this publication, contact jennifer.scribner@hrsdc-rhdcc.gc.ca

Target Point is the University of Alberta's monthly electronic Funding Opportunities Bulletin to which anyone can subscribe. Agency PDF notifications and web links are embedded into this electronic bulletin. Use the "Bookmarks" tab to navigate to the desired section. Note that the Target editors include a number of Alberta-only funding opportunities.
