Funding Announcements

ORS receives funding announcements from various agencies and advertises these announcements on these pages. You can receive the funding announcements directly by signing up to ORS' e-mail lists. Faculty members interested in learning about new funding opportunities should sign themselves up to these e-mail lists as it requires a "Computing ID". E-mail list members also receive important news, reminders and updates from the VPR's office and ORS. All e-mail list correspondence is stored in the Archives tab.

SFU's Research Funding Application Signature Sheet ("SFU Sig Sheet") is required prior to all research applications. This completed/fully signed (i.e.; Applicant, Chair and Dean) sheet must accompany an electronic copy of the application (no CVs) for ORS records at the time of application. Email these documents to ors@sfu.ca. Completion of the internal SFU sign-off process is the responsibility of the applicant and is required prior to the Submission of the application to the funding agency. Applicants are strongly advised to allow sufficient lead-time for the proper consideration at each level.

SFU FACULTY MEMBERS AS CO-INVESTIGATORS ON NON-SFU APPLICATIONS

Must complete the internal SFU sign-off process and email the signed SFU SIG Sheet + brief description about their portion of the research to ors@sfu.ca

RESEARCH GRANTS FACILITATORS

RGFs are available to assist SFU researchers to obtain research funding. These individuals have extensive knowledge concerning funding sources and successful grant writing skills. See Research Facilitation for their names and contact information

ADJUNCT PROFESSORS

SFU Adjunct Professors who plan on applying must have an Adjunct Professor appointment with a term that covers the applied for grant (eg. 01 SEP 2013 to 31 AUG 2015 -- for a 2 year grant). Adjunct Professors should contact Nancy McNeil, Research Grants Manager, as soon as possible for discussion about their eligibility

GRANT ELIGIBILITY

ORS will approve applications only for eligible applicants. However, in some cases research grants may also be applied for and held by certain categories of non faculty members. Please see, Grant Eligibility
