New SFU Faculty Members

 

President's Research Start-Up Grants (PRSG) are available to equip new, continuing faculty members with the start-up funding required for them to excel in their positions at SFU. New SFU faculty members who are taking up their first full-time academic position in Canada are eligible for consideration for an application by SFU in the "New Opportunities" competition for grants from the Canada Foundation for Innovation (CFI) and matching grants from the B.C. Knowledge Development Fund. These grants each provide 40% contributions to the cost of major research infrastructure (ca. $500,000 and upwards) and some operating funds. The window of opportunity is open from the time of appointment until 18 months after taking up a faculty position at SFU. to major grant competitions at the

provincial, national and international levels.

The MPO will provide assistance with

facilitating the establishment of
