About Out On Campus
Out On Campus is Simon Fraser University's centre for lesbian, gay, transgendered and bisexual people and their allies. Throughout the semester we offer a wide range of events and activities, ranging from socials to workshops to discussion groups. We also offer references to counselling and support for students, staff and faculty of Simon Fraser.
In our office space we offer a lounge, a library, a kitchen, and an office area with two computers and a free phone. The office is located on the Burnaby campus on the north side of the Rotunda, which is above the main bus stop. All are invited!
Having re-established a strong volunteer base, Out On Campus is reaching out this year, looking at larger issues that affect queer people and allies of all communities. We are expanding the concept of queer to acknowledge that everyone is affected by issues of sexuality and gender, because we all have them. We demand representation for all aspects of our community!

Queer Awareness Week in The Peak
The Peak published an article by Adam Cristobal about Queer Awareness Week in this week's issue. Adam admitted to being uninformed and not attending any of the events, and yet wrote a rather scathing review of the week's events. The original article can be found online at the Peak's website, www.the-peak.ca, "Separating Sex from Sexuality". Out On Campus Collective member Sofia Voloch has written an excellent response to the article, pointing out the relevance of the various events and why it's important to offer them. Check out her article, "Including Sex in Sexuality", soon to be published in the Peak and available here on the Out On Campus website.

Support for SFPIRG
SFPIRG, the Simon Fraser Public Interest Research Group, has been under some fire recently from a select group of students in regards to their funding and functioning. As an ally to SFPIRG, OOC's Collective has written an open letter in support of SFPIRG. The revised letter can be found here on the OOC website, and was to be published in an upcoming issue of the Peak. For more information, check out the website: www.iheartsfpirg.ca.
