Description

CALENDAR DESCRIPTION:

Covers fundamental concepts of Statics and Strength of Materials. Statics: 2D and 3D force and moment systems, equilibrium of rigid bodies, analysis of structures, distributed forces, centroids and moments of inertia. Strength of Materials: introduction to stress and strain, axial loading, torsion, pure bending, analysis and design of beams for bending and combined loading, deflection of beams, and transformation of stresses. Students with credit for ENSC 281, MSE 221, or SEE 221 may not take this course for further credit.
