Description

CALENDAR DESCRIPTION:

Introduction to engineering materials by control of their structures to achieve different properties and performance. Techniques for modern materials engineering practice. Covers crystal and non-crystal structures and instruments for structure determination; principles of material failure, polymers, ceramics, nano-materials, and composites; electronic materials, and electro-chemical energy materials; quality control and reliability. Students with credit for MSE 220 or ENSC 330 may not take this course for further credit.
