CALENDAR DESCRIPTION:

Designing and interpreting research about education. Introduction to survey techniques, correlational designs, classic experimental and evaluation designs for investigating causal relations, case study methods, interpretive approaches to research. Students with credit for EDUC 814 may not take this course for further credit. Equivalent Courses: EDUC814

DESCRIPTION DU COURS Ce cours vise à développer une connaissance générale de la problématique et de la pratique de la recherche en éducation. Il a comme objectif spécifique d’amener les étudiants à faire une lecture critique des rapports de recherche et à comprendre comment se construit une proposition de recherche. Les fondements épistémologiques, les principes de base et les procédures de recherche seront examinés. Nous allons pratiquer la rédaction des sections d'une proposition recherche comme la problématique, la recension des écrits, l'élaboration d’une question initiale de recherche et la description d’une méthodologie pertinente pour répondre à la question. De plus, nous analyserons les préoccupations déontologiques des chercheurs ainsi que les procédures de cueillette et d’analyse des données typiquement privilégiées dans la recherche en éducation.
