Prerequisites:This course is open to students admitted prior to Fall 2014 to the Business Administration major, honours, or second degree program and who have 45 units, OR to students admitted Fall 2014 - Summer 2017 to the Business Administration major, honours, or second degree program and who have 45 units and BUS 130 or 201 or 202 or 301, with a minimum grade of C-, OR to student admitted Fall 2017 - onwards to the Business Administration major, honours, or second degree program and who have 45 units and BUS 130 or 201 or 202 or 301, with a minimum grade of C- and BUS 217W with a minimum grade of C-, OR to Business Administration joint major or joint honours students with BUS 217W with a minimum grade of C- and 45 units, OR to Business and Economics Joint Major students with ECON 220W with a minimum grade of C- and 45 units, OR to Mechatronic Systems Engineering and Business Administration double degree students with 45 units, OR to Management Systems Science or Actuarial Science majors with 45 units OR to Data Science major with BUS 217W with a minimum grade of C- and 45 units.
This course is designed to assist students to improve their written and oral communication skills in business settings. The theory and practice of business communication will be presented. Topics include analysis of communication problems, message character, message monitoring, message media. Exercises in individual and group messages and presentations will be conducted. Students who have taken BUS 360 may not take this course for further credit. Writing.

TEACHING AT SFU IN FALL 2021
Teaching at SFU in fall 2021 will involve primarily in-person instruction, with approximately 70 to 80 per cent of classes in person/on campus, with safety plans in place. Whether your course will be in-person or through remote methods will be clearly identified in the schedule of classes. You will also know at enrollment whether remote course components will be “live” (synchronous) or at your own pace (asynchronous).
Enrolling in a course acknowledges that you are able to attend in whatever format is required. You should not enroll in a course that is in-person if you are not able to return to campus, and should be aware that remote study may entail different modes of learning, interaction with your instructor, and ways of getting feedback on your work than may be the case for in-person classes.
