Description

CALENDAR DESCRIPTION:

Facilitates an in-depth understanding of the organizational aspects of film production, with emphasis on pre-production planning. The class will study methods of proposal writing, pre-production and production, developing production packages for short film and video projects. This course is strongly recommended for all students intending to take CA 430. Students with credit for FPA 332 may not take this course for further credit.

COURSE DETAILS:

Through a combination of creative and practical coursework, students will strengthen their knowledge of the development and pre-production of short and feature-length films, as well as build confidence in developing and articulating their own creative ideas. Emphasis will be placed on creative research, project pitching, and proposal writing. Guest speakers and case studies will offer opportunities to engage practically with those working in the field. Individual assignments will be a mix of creative exploration and practical exercises, and will include class presentations. Recommended for students intending to take CA430.
