Description

CALENDAR DESCRIPTION:

Current topics in computing systems depending on faculty and student interest.

COURSE DETAILS:

This is a research seminar course cross-listed with CMPT 982 that involves numerous discussions on systems security research. Topics covered in this course include the introduction of primary security conferences, the paper reviewing process, general writing style and structure of a security paper, and discussions of published papers in top security conferences. The discussion of a paper, in general, involves a presentation, primary contributions, novelty, factors that make the paper accepted and aspects that can be improved.

Grading

  • Paper presentation 50%
  • Discussion participation 50%
