Description
CALENDAR DESCRIPTION:
A studio course focusing on creative collaborations between artists of different disciplines. The emphasis is on the creation, analysis and critique of new compositions created in collaboration between senior students in dance, film, music, theatre and visual art.
COURSE DETAILS:
CA 485 in the 2025 Intersession is an opportunity to develop a full professional production of a new work of theatre called Eyes of the Beast, a Neworld Theatre production in association with UVic’s Climate Disaster Project.
The project is open to student actors, designers, production support, assistant directors, and APCS who want to observe, document, and write about the process.
Eyes of the Beast is a verbatim theatre adaptation of the multi-award-winning journalism by the Climate Disaster Project, a teaching newsroom based at the University of Victoria. Drawing from hundreds of testimonies from climate disaster survivors, this piece illuminates our current era of disaster through the stories of ordinary people living through extraordinary times.
