Description

CALENDAR DESCRIPTION:

Focuses on research and theories of language learning in bilingual programs and minority contexts, pedagogical approaches and curricula for teaching in French Immersion programs and Francophone elementary and secondary schools. Instruction given in French. Students with credit for EDUC 481W may not take this course for further credit.

COURSE-LEVEL EDUCATIONAL GOALS:

- Comprendre les diverses composantes des programmes d'études de la C-B
- Comprendre les composantes essentielles à la planification et à la construction d'un programme de français langue seconde / francophone en milieu minoritaire.
- Explorer et expérimenter avec des techniques et des concepts importants dans l'apprentissage d'une langue additionnelle en milieu minoritaire (dont le jeu, l'enquête, la lecture, l'approche actionnelle et les pratiques plurilingues)
- Construire un plan ou une séquence de leçons équilibré qui intègrent toutes les composantes importantes d'un programme de français.
