AIDS Network Nation’s First
Health sciences professor Robert Hogg was chosen to head up Canada’s first nation-wide HIV/AIDS antiretroviral research network to study the effectiveness of antiretroviral therapy for HIV/AIDS treatment.

New research from health sciences professor Michel Joffres revealed that reducing Canadians’ daily salt intake by about half would eliminate hypertension in one million Canadians and save $430 million in related health costs.
Probing childhood asthma, allergies
Health Sciences professors Tim Takaro and Ryan Allen became involved in a $12 million Canadian Healthy Infant Longitudinal Development (CHILD) Study.
