Investors not impressed with RIM moves
BlackBerry
manufacturer Research in Motion (RIM) announced yesterday that co-CEOs Jim Balsillie and Mike Lazaridis were stepping down and being replaced by COO Thorsten Heins. SFU researcher Nathaniel Payne called the move “overdue” from a leadership perspective, and that it has done little to reassure investors. “Going forward, Heins' success, as well as RIM's, will be measured both immediately and in the long term, from an execution perspective. Eventhis morning, many shareholders continued to reiterate that simply being a cheerleader for Canada’s largest tech company will not be enough to quell their concerns about RIM's market and innovation position.”
