Scrutinizing Facebook’s public face

SFU communication professor Richard Smith says Facebook’s public offering of itself on the stock market crystalizes the fact that we are living in a networked society and our private lives are marketable commodities. Smith can elaborate on this, as well as his belief that going public puts Facebook under greater government scrutiny, which better protects our privacy as long as we’re responsible.
