Mary Gerges, an SFU School of Public Policy graduate student and an Egyptian woman who is also a Copt, Egypt’s native minority Christian group, can comment on what is rapidly becoming Egypt’s third revolution. Gerges says, “My hopes lie with the Egyptian people that the current regime will be overthrown and that the blood of those thousands of protestors that was shed since the 2011 Arab Spring demonstrations will not again be in vain. This is a time for Copts and Muslims alike to demand competent leadership, political and religious freedoms and a better future for the Egyptian people.”

SFU terrorism expert Andre Gerolymatos is also available to comment.
