Canadian senators can be fired

SFU public policy professor Doug McArthur is available to comment on the Senate crisis in Parliament. “The remedy should be that senators are dismissed from the Senate,” says McArthur. “This can be done and Parliament has that power. It’s hardly ever used because normally people resign before it gets to this point. Parliament needs to step forward and act.”
