The Jack Austin Centre for Asia Pacific Business Studies, a partnership of Simon Fraser University’s Beedie School of Business and the Asia Pacific Foundation of Canada, will bring together some of the country's leading experts to discuss the role of state-owned enterprises (SOEs) in Canada's future.
Recent events have heightened the urgency to understand the role of SOEs in the future of the Canadian economy - as investors, partners, customers, and competitors. This dialogue aims to clarify the most important issues, consider reasonable options, and devise a way forward that balances the interests of all stakeholders.

The Jack Austin Centre for Asia Pacific Business Studies at SFU was established in 2010 in partnership with the Asia Pacific Foundation of Canada. Named after former Canadian Senator Jack Austin to honour his long-held vision of strong Canada-Asia relations, the centre has a remit of carrying out research, outreach and training activities on business issues that are relevant to Canada’s interests in the Asia Pacific region.
