City Conversations, a popular bi-monthly lunchtime conversation series held at Simon Fraser University’s Vancouver campus, is moving outside for a special edition featuring members of the City of Vancouver’s Mayor’s Engaged City Task Force on June 20 at 12:30 p.m.
Presented by SFU Public Square and co-sponsored by the Downtown Vancouver Business Improvement Association, Thursday’s discussion ‘City to Citizens: We want a better connection with you’ will animate a park space in the heart of Downtown Vancouver at the Lot 19 parkette (north end of Hornby St. between West Hastings and Cordova).
The event will feature members of the Task Force, including former Vancouver Parks Commissioner Lyndsay Poaps, the creator of Rain City Chronicles Lizzy Karp, and SFU PhD candidate Samuel Chen. All three Task Force members will describe their initial ‘quick start’ recommendations to improve conversations between the city and its citizens, before opening the floor to the public for an extended conversation on the topic.
Tents have been provided for the event, however attendees are asked to dress for the weather and are invited to bring their lunch. Light snacks will be provided.
