Jason Paguio, Simon Fraser University Pipe Band drum major and reigning world champion, has won the title once more at the World Pipe Band Championships today in Scotland.

The Simon Fraser University Pipe Band finished seventh of 23 bands (placing fifth in the Medley and seventh in the March, Strathspey and Reel) while SFU’s junior Robert Malcolm Memorial band, competing in the novice juvenile category, took fifth prize. The juniors were the sole Canadian band and among 28 competing bands.

Northern Ireland’s Field Marshal Montgomery band took its fourth Worlds title.  

The SFU band won world championships in 1995, 1996, 1999, 2001, 2008 and 2009.
