Forty B.C. First Nations representatives will play a role in learning how to develop a new app that will teach users how to speak one of many First Nations languages, during two days of workshops hosted by the app’s Simon Fraser University developers. The event is being held at SFU’s Harbour Centre campus Mar. 17-18, room 1600, starting at 9 a.m.

SFU linguists are contributing their expertise—including lead investigator Marianne Ignace—and will be in attendance, as well as numerous community partners who are documenting their languages and recording its remaining fluent speakers for use in the app.
