Why will G Lot and Visitor Lot 1 be unavailable?

As part of the UniverCity development, the extension to University Crescent is being built. It will connect University Crescent to Tower Road. After the roadway is extension is built, residential construction will occur in the area that was formerly G Lot.

When does this happen?

On May 1, 2013, construction will begin on the extension to University Crescent. At this time all of G Lot and Lot 1 will be unavailable.

The completion of the extension to University Crescent and the commencement of residential construction is expected to occur on September 1, 2013.

Are there enough parking spaces on campus to accommodate everyone?

Based on current usage on a regular day – yes. However, pricing and location may be different and additional accommodations will need to be made for larger campus events such as Convocation.

I am a G Lot permit holder. Where will I be able to park on Burnaby campus?

The specifics will be announced shortly. We do know that over the summer semester current G Lot permit holders will be accommodated elsewhere on campus.

When will I know where my new parking space is located?

We hope to have specifics available, on this website, by the mid-April.

What if I am not a parking permit holder but normally park in Visitor Lot 1?

Visitor Lot 1 is being eliminated. You have the option to purchase a parking permit or park in one of the other visitor lots on campus. More information on visitor lots and rates is available here.
