Faculty & Staff Parking
There is no free parking on the SFU Burnaby Campus; vehicles not displaying a valid SFU parking permit must pay the visitor parking rate either at the ticket vending machine, or through the Passport Canada mobile app.
Faculty/Staff who normally do not drive to the Burnaby campus may purchase discounted daily parking from Parking and Sustainable Mobility Services.
Faculty/Staff have preferred access to parking although location and pricing is not guaranteed. Wait lists may exist for the most desirable lots.
All permit holders and parkers are responsible for abiding by the Parking Regulations; Parking and Sustainable Mobility Services both tickets and impounds vehicles found to be parked in violation.
Purchasing a Permit
Permanent and continuing staff may purchase a permit through payroll deduction. Forms are located on the online forms page. Temporary and non-continuing positions may purchase parking on a monthly, semesterly, or annual basis by paying in advance.
Cancelling your Permit
Faculty/Staff on payroll deduction must submit a payroll deduction withdrawal form if they wish to cancel/suspend their permit. Faculty/Staff on long-term leave (LTD, sabbatical, etc.) must submit the withdrawal form if they do not wish to pay for parking during their absence, however; under most circumstances Parking and Sustainable Mobility Services will “hold” their parking space.
Faculty/Staff who require parking accommodations due to mobility issues should contact the Human Resources department.
SFU Parking and Sustainable Mobility Services offers alternative transportation options including benefits to carpoolers.
Parking at other Universities
SFU has a reciprocal parking agreement with a number of BC Universities and Colleges. Note that only regular annual parking permits qualify for this benefit (i.e. reduced rate passes such as evening/weekend passes do not qualify).
