 3  Jefferson Park  1940  1970  Resurreced in 1980 #1 (to) Ferdinand. This was an extension of the former line.
 3  (To Seattle Center East)  13 SE 1980  ??  A short turn of 3/4, terminated at Valley. Discontinued w/ some trips turning back at Virginia St.
 4  East Queen Anne  1940  1970  Resurrected in 1980 #4 (to)  East Queen Anne
 4  Montlake  1940  1970  Resurrected in 1980 as #43 (to) Ballard.
 5  Phinney  1941  1963  First major line to go diesel
 6  Stone Way  1941  1963  Through Routed w/ #12 in 1956
 7  15th Ave. NE  1940 1963  All the branches of route 7 and route 8 were interlined except in the very early days. #7 -15th NE had two branches: E65th St and E85th St. The Cowen Park loop was used in daily service until the early 1950's, and continued as a rush hour loop for a few more years. The 45th and University loop was a rush hour loop on #7 until about 1950. Partly resurrected as #70 (to) University District. E65 branch is duo-bus line #71, the 85th branch is duo-bus line 73. Duo-bus line #72 is a new line.
 7  Rainier  1940  1963  The Graham St. and the Rose St. loops were daily in the early years. The Rose St. became a rush hour loop and finally kept as an emergency loop toward the end. The Fletcher loop saw a few rush hour trips. Resurrected as #7 (to) Prentice/Columbia City
 7  To University District/ via Broadway  1979  JN 2005  Replaced by 49 to University District /via Broadway when disconnected from #7 Rainier daily till 6.m., when it is through-routed with the 7.
 8  Ravenna  194-  1963  Originally through-routed with the #11 California Ave. line (renumbered to #15). Now diesel-bus line #74.
 9  Broadway  1940 1979  Replaced with #7 to University District / via Broadway.
 9  to University District / via ??  1981  2005  Replaced with a semi-express diesel run from Aloha to Rainier Ave.
 9  to Rainier Beach  1981  2005 See above. Ealier termini were Graham St. and later Rose St.
 11  Madison  1940  1965  Through routed with #21 from Nov. 1957 to 1963.

 21  35th Ave. SW  1957  1963  Last line of the STS to be converted (from a dieselbus line) , lasted 6 years, the shortest in the old system.
 34  Harbor Island  1943  1957  Rush hour only line. Heavily used during WW II. Replaced by a short turn loop for West Seattle trolleys.
 91  Virginia St. to 8th Ave. So and S. Jackson St.  1991  199-  Introduced as a downtown collector route to supplement the bus tunnel. Discontinued because of lack of funding. Not replaced. The only route in the rebuilt system to be discontinued. Routes do not have names in the new system. They have a destination blind and a "via" blind.
