Trolleys in North America

Note: Re the above site, Jim Graebner rports that the Cohoes, New York electric trolleybus system closed on October 9, 1933. Jim mentions that 1934 and 1937 are often misrepresented. His source is the local Cohoes newspaper. 1933 is also cited. This system ran four Brockways.

Two Canadian systems ordered electric trolleybuses from CCF Brill but they both pulled out before delivery: St. John, NB (12), and St. John's, Nfld. (8). The St. John, NB fleet were assigned serial numbers.

Oakland, CA ordered Brills and installed some overhead. The Brills were transferred to Los Angeles before seeing any service in Oakland.

Seattle: Sound Transit took over Metro route to Bellevue on 18 SE 99. Sound Transit is contracting with King Country Metro to operate the dualbuses which will operate in electric mode in the downtown tunnel. ST collects fares (the same as Metro on this run), has its own logo and is reported to repaint some of the leased dualbuses in ST colours. Certain stops along the old KC route were eliminated by ST.
