On September 1st 2006 the official opening of a new trolleybus garage in the Novokosino district in Moscow took place (with the city heads and journalists) . Construction of the new garae began in 1996, but it went very slowly because of financial problems. Construction was completed in December, 2006. The depot is 2 kilometers from the nearest point of a trolleybus route. Construction of a connecting line long 4,5 kilometers was completed in August. The new overhead passes through a large residential area, but passenger service is not planned. The overhead from the garage is used by trolleybuses on route #77, but trolleybuses on the new line travel without passengers.
