"For a period of three to four months
from July 2000, construction work on
the Bridge Street elevated station will necessitate sporadic suspension
of
trolleybus operations on routes 59, 66, and 75. Thereafter, trolleybus
operation is likely to be almost unaffected until January 2002
when it will
be suspended for about 20 months. The stated intention of SEPTA
is to
restore trolleybus service by October 2003 following the renewal
of the
entire trolleybus overhead system at Frankford depot during the
period of
suspension. Two proposals for temporary stabling arrangements
were rejected
by a SEPTA committee both on cost grounds and expected neighbourhood
objections to the installation of wiring and increase in vehicle
movements."
