The Western Front of the European Theatre

Truly a world war, the land battles of the Second World War were divided into various theatres of war: the European Theatre, the Pacific Asian Theatre, the Middle East Theatre, the Mediterranean Theatre, and the African Theatre.

Following the D-Day landing on Juno Beach, Canadian troops focussed their efforts on what has been referred to as the Normandy Campaign. Some of the other materials in this section cover the efforts of the Allied troops liberating France, Belgium, and Holland, as well as the invasion of Germany prior to the Nazi surrender.
