There will be weekly web-based
(mastering physics) assignments , the
additional problems for exam preparation will be posted on WebCT. The course ID
is SFUPHYS100W2011. Please use your sfu email address as the login ID
and student number as the mastering physics student ID.
Open labs: Monday
13:30 to 17:20 and Tuesday 12:30 to 17:20 in room AQ 4120.
This is where teaching
assistants will be available to help you with your questions and
assignments.
Active learning labs: These are mandatory lab
exercises that are held at your tutorial time in room P9412. They will be graded as pass/fail. You need to attend all the labs and
finish the related work in order to pass it. You need to provide your TA with a doctorÕs note if you miss
a lab (you can not miss more than one).
There will be a make up session at the end of the term.
Worksheets are posted on
WebCT, active learning lab folder.
You need to print the related worksheet before the lab and bring it with
you.
Extra help: Some extra tutorials will be held for
students who need extra assistance. You can earn that 1% by attending the
weekly extra tutorials. Schedule and location will be posted on WebCT.
Grading schemes: The course will be graded as
follows:
I-clickers: 5%
Assignments 15% Term exams: 30
%
Final exam: 50 %
