Our research is dedicated to the study of molecular films on charged interfaces utilizing electrochemistry and in-situ probes of the interface. This coupled approach will provide insights into the physical nature of the adsorbed film and the influence of the electric field on the nature of the adsorbed film. This has many implications as detailed below. Students working in the lab are exposed to a number of techniques in addition to electrochemistry. We presently use a number of in-situ methods such as absorption, Raman and fluorescence spectroscopies, AFM/STM, and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy. Most projects involve the presence of an organic molecule on a metal surface.
