Shrum Gold Medal for 2015 Awarded to Honours Physics Student Micah Brush.

The Shrum Gold Medal is awarded to the graduating undergraduate who maintains a high scholastic standing and who also shows outstanding qualities of character and unselfish devotion to SFU.  Micah Brush is graduating with a BSc in Honours Physics, achieving a CGPA of 4.23. He has been the recipient of numerous awards and scholarships throughout his studies, including two summer research awards. Additionally, he has been an active member of the SFU Choir since his first semester at SFU, where he has served as the president, vice-president, and tenor section leader. Micah has also been involved in science outreach (especially astronomy) as he feels it is important to keep the public and youth actively engaged in science. He also enjoys teaching, and has been a TA for PHYS 102, PHYS 121 and PHYS 190.  In the Fall, Micah will be attending the University of Cambridge for one year, and then intends to pursue a PhD in theoretical physics at UC Berkeley.
