Clare McGovern has received a Teaching and Development Grant for her project "The Impact of Community Partnerships on Student Learning Outcomes."
The project aims to to test whether taking part in a Political Science course project with a community partner increases undergraduate students’ awareness of their local community and sense of political efficacy (i.e. ability to identify their opinions on political issues, to understand how political systems work and to engage with political institutions and politicians to express their opinions). Students will be partnering with Elections BC and the Simon Fraser Student Society to register students for the BC Election.
Nick Pollous, one of our current MA students, will also be assisting on this project as a research assistant.
