PhD Student wins
Dr. Hari Sharma Foundation Award

PhD Student, Michael Oram has been awarded the Dr. Hari Sharma Foundation Award, valued at $10,000. This award is to "recognize and reward an outstanding student pursuing a graduate degree, whose field of study is of benefit to the South Asian community and pertains to South Asian history, culture, politics, or diaspora."

This award will help Michael support his research in conducting a comparison of the implementation of transportation policy in Vancouver and Singapore.

Michael has a publication forthcoming in the Canadian Journal of Transportation comparing greenhouse gas emissions of the Canada Line in Vancouver and the Tramway T2 in Paris: Nguyen Van Sang, Emilie, Michael Oram and Anthony Perl. Forthcoming. “Assessing GHG Emissions Effects of the Canada Line in Vancouver and Tramway T2 in Paris.” Canadian Journal of Transportation.
