Anthony Perl, Professor, is currently the Director of Urban Studies Program. His research has crossed disciplinary and national boundaries to explore the political dynamics that influence transportation system performance and the resulting environmental impacts. He has found that genuine policy innovations are often accompanied by a restructuring that recasts the relationship between public and private organizations delivering transportation infrastructure or services. His findings have been published in journals such as Transportation Research, Transportation Quarterly, World Transport Policy and Practice, Journal of Air Transport Management, Transportation Research Record, Journal of Public Policy, Canadian Public Policy, Journal of Policy Analysis and Management, Journal of Urban Technology, Canadian Journal of Political Science and Scientific American. He has received awards for outstanding papers presented at the World Conference on Transport Research and the Canadian Transportation Research Forum.
