Douglas Ross, Professor, taught at Trent University and the University of British Columbia before coming to Simon Fraser University in 1988. His research interests include Canadian Foreign Policy, Strategy and Arms Control, and International Conflict and Conflict Resolution. He was a founding director of the Canadian Centre for Arms Control and Disarmament in 1983, and served on the national policy advisory group for the Canadian Ambassadors for Disarmament from 1986-93. He is presently on the editorial board of International Journal. Recent work includes four edited collections of papers concerning security and arms control in the North Pacific, super-power Maritime strategies in the pacific region, prospects for security cooperation in the Asia-Pacific region during the coming decade, and Canadian-Russian relations in the post-Cold War era. Current research interests include Canadian-United States aero-space defence relations and the relationship between environmental crisis and national security policymaking.
