Steven Weldon is an Assistant Professor specializing in comparative politics. His research focuses on political parties and party systems, public opinion, political behaviour, and comparative ethnic relations and conflict.
Currently he is engaged in two main research projects. The first examines how intra-party politics and patterns of party member activism shape the larger democratic process. The second focuses on the formation of political community in ethnically divided societies, including the integration of immigrants and ethnic minorities in advanced democracies. His work has appeared in such journals as the American Journal of Political Science, British Journal of Political Science (forthcoming), Party Politics, West
European Politics, and Rivista italiana di scienza po
litica.
