Dr. Rémi Léger was recently appointed Editor of the journal, Francophonies d’Amérique, for a term of five years.
Founded in 1991, the journal publishes academic research from across the social sciences and humanities on French literatures & linguistics, language rights & policies, and francophone cultures & identities. Dr. Léger is the youngest editor in Francophonies d’Amérique’s history, and the first political scientist to hold the position.
Dr. Léger has been at SFU since 2012. He teaches courses in Canadian politics, contemporary political theory, and research design. His research examines the politics of language in Canada and, more broadly, how liberal democracies respond to language mobilizations and claims for linguistic justice.
