Planning for the fall semester with our values in mind

May 11, 2020

With the summer semester beginning this week, I am thinking of our students, faculty and staff who are embarking on a very different experience than the one they expected just months ago.

Today, SFU Provost Jon Driver announced that most courses will continue to be offered by remote delivery this fall. At the same time, we will be working closely with health authorities and the Province to ease some COVID-19-related restrictions on our campuses.

So much has changed for our community. But what hasn’t changed is our determination to stick together, to find new ways to connect, and to deliver a world-class education while protecting the health and safety of all members of the SFU community.

In my latest video update, I discuss the principles that are guiding our decision-making as we navigate this crisis. I hope there is reassurance in knowing that we are relying on our values and commitments in everything we do.

Here are the links to further information mentioned in my video:

I want to remind you to take care of yourselves and one another. Continue to do your part to follow physical distancing guidelines, wash your hands often and get outside when you can.

Stay safe, stay well and stay connected.
