The Political Science Student Union is the association responsible for representing the interests and concerns of Simon Fraser University's Political Science students. All students currently taking at least one Political Science course are considered members of the Union, as are all students declared in its major, minor, and honours programmes. The goal of the PSSU is to work with both the Political Science Department and the Simon Fraser Student Society, to make students' time at Simon Fraser as rewarding as possible.

Women in Politics

After much deliberation the PSSU has decided to postpone its Women In Politics event until the fall semester. With the intention of conducting a smaller, more intimate event which is focused specifically on students' needs and interests we felt it would be in the best interest of all parties to wait so as to provide the best possible event. If you are interested in becoming involved or have any questions, comments or concerns, check out the facebook group and post on the discussion boards. Or, better yet, come to a meeting!

SOCIAL III: Social With A Vengance

The wheels are turning on Social III and we want to hear what you have to say! Have a suggestion for music? Interested in how the social is put together? Have grievances to air about Social II? If so, let us know! We would love to hear what you have to say. Come out to a meeting, meet your exec. and get involved. We need volunteers with serving it right for beer sales, people to sell beer tickets and assistance in setting up and taking down the room, so if any of these jobs appeal to you, let us know!

Engineers Without Borders Volunteer Opportunities

Directorships with EWB are entry-level volunteer leadership opportunities. You will be given training, and expected to volunteer between 3 and 5 hours each week. Responsibilities will vary based on the position, and coaching is available. Directorships are made by appointment, not election, so we ask that you submit a paragraph stating why you are a strong candidate for the position you are interested in to ensure our applicants are serious. Directorship positions are a fantastic way to gather leadership experience and apply your creativity to help solve some of the world’s toughest problems.To apply for any directorship position: submit a paragraph by email to Mike: mah3@sfu.ca by March 14th that outlines why you are interested in the position. The PSSU AGM was a huge success! Thanks to all the new students who attended and voiced their opinions and concerns, as well as those who ran for a position on the executive. The PSSU would like to welcome their new executive members: David Dyck as Tresurer, Sam Reynolds as Member at Large and Justin Domareski as Member at Large. Moreover, we would like to announce the creation of three new positions: Member at Large, Promotions Coordinator and Administrative Editor-Journal.

American Criminal Justice Presentation

Model UN at SFU

The Simon Fraser University Model United Nations (here referred to as SFUMUN) was founded in January 2005. The vision of its founders was to establish an umbrella organization at SFU that would undertake a host of activities with regard to Model United Nations (MUN) conferences held around the globe, from Cairo to New York.

Through founding a registered club and initiating an information network with other student oriented MUN organizations in various universities, SFUMUN seeks to facilitate and encourage upon the participation of SFU students in MUN conferences world wide, and pioneer an internationally recognized MUN conference at SFU Campus.
