PSSU Undergraduate Journal
UPDATE
The journal is finished! After months of hard work and dedication the journal was sent to press and presented at the PSSU Journal Launch in November. A big thank you to all the people who made the journal possible and put their blood, sweat and tears into this task. Copies are available for sale for $10 through the PSSU. That being said, we are now accepting submissions for the next edition! If you are interested in submitting please see the guidelines below or contact Chris Apps for more information.
Submissions Guidelines
The Political Science Student Society Undergraduate Journal will publish essays from SFU undergraduate students on topics relating to political science including, but not limited to, political theory, Canadian politics, political economy, comparative politics, international relations, and public policy. We will accept submissions from students outside of the political science department provided that they pertain to political science. We will not reprint previously published work.
Format and Criteria
Submissions should be emailed to the copy editor at cja5@sfu.ca in .doc or .pdf format. The subject field should include your full name and the word “Submission”. Your paper should not include any identifying information (e.g., name, student number, etc) within it. Any widely recognized footnote or endnote based citation style will be accepted; however, your citation style may be changed by the copy editor who may need clarification on ambiguous citations.
Normal submissions may range from 10 pages to 20 pages. However, the journal will publish one honours essay of any size as a “feature article”. If you submit an honours paper please indicate this within the body of your email. If you are chosen for publication you may be asked to supply a short (250 words) abstract and/or a short (50 words) academic biography.
Confirmation that your paper has been received will normally be sent to you within one week; however, please do not query us until two weeks have passed without confirmation of your submission. Due to time constraints we will only contact the authors of papers who will be published.
Only one submission per author will be published in each issue but multiple submissions are welcome. Authors should send no more than two different manuscripts and each should be submitted separately.
