Rita Wong is the author of three books of poetry: sybil unrest (co-written with Larissa Lai, Line Books, 2008), forage (Nightwood 2007), and monkeypuzzle (Press Gang 1998). She works as an Associate Professor in Critical + Cultural Studies at Emily Carr University of Art + Design, and her work investigates the relationships between contemporary poetics, social justice, ecology, and decolonization.

Juliane Okot Bitek's writing has won awards in Canada, United States and Britain and is widely published online and in print. Her first book, a collection of poetry: Words in Black Cinnamon (Delina Press), was published in 1998. The World Poetry International Festival was honoured to present her in 2011. She recently completed a book, Stories from the Dry Season, which she co-authored with Grace Acan, a women’s advocate in northern Uganda. She continues to write and speak about issues of home, homeland and diaspora. She is currently pursuing a doctoral degree in Interdisciplinary studies at the University of British Columbia.
