Top student, tough choices

When a bus accident forced criminology student Candice Odgers to abandon a promising future in collegiate basketball, she turned her energy to academics and netted the interest of two prestigious graduate schools. Odgers, who received a Terry Fox Medal for her courage in adversity and dedication to society, turned down a Commonwealth Scholarship to Cambridge to accept a $200,000 doctoral scholarship to the University of Virginia.
